If you are running a dance company – which is how I came to think of my sculptures – you let them dance all together, solo, in pairs, in groups of three, in groups of four. Pas de trois, pas de quatre. You let them interact. This is how I planned these pictures – to give each sculpture a role and a chance to shine, next to other members of the company. They all want to be singled out, but they are an ensemble.
