Like her sculptures, Lydia Gladkova’s drawings are created in a process of building and deconstruction. She starts off the edge, then erases large areas of the rectangular space, essentially deleting the drawing; then she starts again. She keeps the structure linear and light as if it was just started and works through many iterations until a sense of a whole is achieved.
